This shading work was a part of my lighting for animation project. First I gathered reference to figure out colour pallets, mood, and level of detail. Since the animation was in a cartoon style, I looked at animated films such as UP and Zootopia to reference a stylized realistic look for texture creation. In a PBR workflow, I created the textures using Substance software and assembled the in Maya using Arnold materials.
The models were from The Academy of Animated Art through the lighting for animation course.
